Hi,

I am going to de-fork my old 125etx as the gears are shot. I plan to use this with my evolution mount, would this product be up to the task ?

If not, can anyone point me in the right direction please. The ota circumference is about 147mm and weight is around 4-5 kg's, thank you.

Hi Steve,

I just looked at the photo's Altair Astro. The diameter of the rings appears OK... my concern is the length of the thumbscrews and you may not have enough thread at the protective tip end.

Here is what I have done to my 're-modded' ETX105... I attached the dovetail bar to it using two Jubilee hose rings and lined with some strips of self-adhesive neoprene, as the diameter of the OTA is 124mm and I cannot find anything close to that size.  A 'cheapskate' way of attaching a 'scope to a mount, but it works for me. ?

Photo's above of my 're-modded' ETX105 and below with a 2" SCT star diagonal attached to my Vixen GP/DX.
