Barred Spiral Galaxy in Centaurus

Hi all,

Sharing with you my image of NGC4945, an almost edge on barred Spiral Galaxy in the constellation Centaurus.

I'm slowly going through the data I have captured in the last few months, this was from April.

Taken with my Canon 40D through the 8SE at f10, 2032mm focal length.

Thats what I'm doing, aiming south...

Although after I process the objects I imaged in the last couple of months, I am taking a break from DSOs until I cool my DSLR.

If successful than great, if I destroy my 40D when attempting the active cooling than I have another 40D which I won on eBay cheap, so I'll just return to my current setups.

Nice image and interesting object. Unusual shape of the galaxy, it looks a bit cloud-like to me. It would be nice to follow your cooling project in a separate thread.

Thanks Ragnar... I'll document the cooling procedure and my results.
