A small offering from last night 11/08/18

For the first time in quite a few months the sky allowed me to some imaging! I set up my ts 80 apo on the relatively new eq3 pro a while back. I also put the qhy minicam5s on the scope. This is essentially a cooled qhy5l-ii mono so has a high qe but even at -15 deg is still rather noisy. I think the eq3 pro needs some tweaking, especially in the area of backlash. With the small sensor I noticed it took quite a while to finally settle after slewing. Not sure if that's an intrinsic characteristic of the mount or something that could be improved.

Anyway took some shots of plain old stars and other objects as they came into view :) I've done some stacking and some very simple post processing. Mono is so easy...

Hopefully I'll get to do some more in the not too distant future!
