ZWO have discontinued the ASI1600mc pro

Anyone know of a replacement or are they bringing out yet another revision?

Perhaps the ASI294mc pro has effectively replaced it in the OSC segment?

Any insider knowledge @FLO ?

Yes - we learnt it was discontinued earlier in the week. We have 1x ASI1600MC left on the shelf but no cooled ones.

ZWO are recommending the ASI294MC-Pro.

We are told the sensors for the ASI1600MC were becoming hard to source but, the ASI1600MM is set to continue - thankfully, it is very popular!

I did wonder if this would be the case with fast moving CMOS development, CCD sensors seem to hang about for 10 years or so, but CMOS moves on after 2-4 years. Maybe not now but in the end the mono version will go too. The great thing is that it will be replaced with something better mind you, so not a reason to panic buy.

At that price I would think Atik have shelves full of them.
