Heads up- 10" homebuilt dobo on Gumtree

Anyone fancy a punt on this 10" dobsonian. Needs TLC but cheap. No connection with seller of course.

Ooof. Needs new mirror recoating, methinks... add £140 on top of that for recoat plus SiO overcoat.

I'm going to take a look later.

To be fair, he's honest that the mirror is in a state, but he says that he's recoated one himself in the past.

Has to be worth checking it out.

I've found a place that will recoat a 10" mirror for about £80 with two layers of aluminium + protective layer, including postage.

They are cheap, let's hope they are cheerful!

Obviously the mirror might be a dodgy home-made one or something worthy of Hilux... It appears to have quite along FL from the pictures.
