Observing the sun with no filter!

That was the sun yesterday afternoon through thick smoke from forest fires in Northern California and Southern Oregon.
The air was hard to breathe but the temperature was 100f or 40c in the shade! It was apocalyptic to see and feel!
Even 300 miles South in San Francisco we still could see that smoke and of course the fog on the coast!

Unreal! it reminds me of sunset on mars shots from Curiosity rover, i hope they get those fires under control soon.

Gosh that reminds me of a fairly recent event in the UK when the Sun turned Red and the sky turned dark due to a weird cloud of smoke and sand from Portugal fires and the Sahara respectively, it made the National news.

Makes you realise how the climate could have been changed by massive amounts of material being projected into the atmosphere and remaining there for months from huge meteorite impacts and / or large scale volcanic activity in the distant past.

Last year...I remember that day. Fortunately, I was at home that day and was able to capture such an unusual phenomenon. This was straight out of the 500D, no tweaking.

Juat like last year dust storm in the uk threes taken from my car park at home
