Something blocking the sensor or the FOV causing a vignetting..

What is the set-up?

My gut instinct says that if this were of electronic origin it would not have a soft, fuzzy border. It would follow the chip's pixel matrix, which it doesn't, so I suspect that something is obstructing the light path when it shouldn't.

Does it get bigger or stay same size in the subs?
