Noctilucent clouds at last

Finally got them. First shot with Samyang 10 mm F/2.8

Second shot with Canon 50 mm F/1.4

I shot loads more. Will give them a proper processing tomorrow

Chuffed to bits with my first noctilucent clouds shots

Noctilucent clouds are high up in the atmosphere (80 km up or so), and can only be seen on some summer nights, when they are illuminated by the sun which is below the northern horizon

Ah--they are particular to northern latitudes.  As long as they stay tethered to the horizon, I suppose, they are indeed welcomed!

Nice job, Michael. I've always wanted to capture them. I think I'll need to travel further north. I'm at 33 degrees north latitude.
