It was taken with the Star Travel 102 f/5 refractor and CANNON 300D no filters were used for the image look forward to getting a 2" LP filter though .

I had a play with the full size image and took the Nebula out for processing so i could get a larger image scale of just the Neb.

Changed to B/W because it showed quite a bit more detail..

It seems that M42 is easy to "get" but very hard to do it well. You've nailed it James, lovely colour and nebulosity.

Your right there Martin easy to get but a [removed word] to get right, esp the core being over exposed for that you need to do shorter exposures and combine two on the image.
