Various lunar craters from 25 June 2018

I finally got round to processing the several lunar crater images that I captured on 25 June after imaging Jupiter and whilst waiting for Saturn to gain elevation. It was also the night that I imaged Mars, so a long busy session. I've previously shared the J Herschel crater image so here are the other six lunar feature images that I captured. Gassendi

Gassendi crater (which occupies most of the top image) at some 100km (68 miles) diameter is the largest of the main craters that I imaged during the session, but each of the images shows craters and other features down to about 2km (maybe less) diameter - I find that remarkable when you consider that the Moon was close to apogee some 398,000km (247,000 miles) distance at the time I was imaging it.

Regards, Geof

A fine collection of craters.

Thanks Pete, I don't image, or even look at the Moon often enough; I think one could spend a lifetime looking at it and still keep finding something new....

Cheers, Geof

I don't image or sketch Geoff, but I will never tire of just observing the lunar surface.

Nice shots BTW :happy11:
