Hello I got curious too, so I looked and found a definition.

Barium Strontium Titanate.

Stuff is a thin film deposition of very good optical coatings.

And by the way, the mirror coating in my f6 250mm alt az was applied by ion beam deposition in Queensland by Dr W. Sainty.

 

My favourite ep is 24mm Parks. Works nicely on the moon. But I am unable to find an 8mm to replace my celestron ultima 7.5mm .

. Till now.

I have hearkened to postings and reviews and ordered an 8mm StarGuider ED Paradigm.

BST is a well know brand of eyepiece. You need a new acronym

I think it is short for Barsta, the manufacturer.
