Venus with Variable Polarizing Filter

Recommended Posts

On the evening of May 31, initially to cut down the glare, I used a Meade Series 4000 Variable Polarizing Filter to observe and image the gibbous phase of Mars with my 127mm Mak-Cass. I was surprised to see some cloud detail visually, so I got out my Orion Deep Space Camera II and tweaked it a bit for suitable planetary imaging. I shot about 10 seconds of video and processed it in Registax 6/Photoshop:

Best wishes to all the contestants!

Clear skies,

Reggie
