Hi JeremyS,

How does it perform, the Tak FC76 mounted on the SW AZ GTi ?

And with the CQ extender?

Thank you in advance !!

Kind regards,

Miguel

Hello Miguel,

the Tak FC76 DCU performs well on the AZ GTi. I added a small counterweight, which helps a bit.

I have the Extender-Q  1.6 x, not the CQ module. But I have yet to find a significant advantage over standard eyepieces when used at about  the same magnification.

Better corrections, apparently. Matthew @DirkSteele describes its use with the Takahashi FC60 and the FC76 on his excellent website.

Thanks Jeremy.  The two relevant reviews are linked below:

The FS-60Q:  http://alpha-lyrae.co.uk/2018/03/31/takahashi-fs-60q-review/

The FC-76Q: http://alpha-lyrae.co.uk/2018/12/07/takahashi-fc-76q-review/

There are also reviews for the non-Q versions of both scopes in the reviews section.

An Extender CQ 1.7 x has arrived for the Takahashi FC76 DCU. Takes it from 570 mm FL (f/7.5) to 970 mm (f/12.8).

Nice, very nice, I bet at f12.8 that is quite something.
Does it darken down at that f ratio?

Not had a chance to try it yet, Alan & Miguel. It's intended to be part of my travel kit, with the Tak FC 76 DCU
