Using PEC with HEQ5/PHD2

Is there an easy way to use PEC with PHD2 and an HEQ5?

Will the settings be remembered or will they be lost if the mount is moved or I forget to 'park' it?

I've just answered Cuivenion's query, but PEC is now 'built-in' to the latest versions of EQMod, and is recorded \ enabled during 'real' guiding, so doesn't waste time.

So if I just tick those boxes, it will 'learn' the periodic error and guiding will improve?

My bad, but as Chris Shillito, has pointed out, those settings are for controlling the inbuilt Synscan Pec routine. But to be honest, I don't bother with PEC, I'd rather just get on with guided imaging. Mine may not be the best, but I get round stars, which is all I'm after....

From what Chris was saying in my thread that's not the case unfortunately, it's for use with Skywatcher PPEC enabled mounts.

 

Autopec in EQMOD is the same as it has been and your pec data can be improved by running it through Pecprep.

I'm not sure about parking but I do that at the end of a session anyway. But you can move the axis with the clutches released, it's just the worm position that can't be moved.

Ah... was wondering why it wasn't displaying in my screen.

Just to add, after reading up on this you do need to park the mount between sessions or your PEC data becomes useless.
