I realize that the wavelets are derived from the data but they used to impose a uniformity which belied this, in my view.

Yes Olly, I obviously see the reason why you do not want to hang anyone out and I think Wim elegantly gave me a hint of what you talk about by pointing towards an image from the PI site - so no one to blame.
