Polar Alignment Help

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Am I right in saying that Polaris is the last star on the handle of the plough? I had some issues with polar alignment last night. Polaris was almost directly over head which meant that for me to find it in the finder scope the telescope had to be almost vertical. Am guessing I've misidentified Polaris?

Polaris is not the last star on the handle if you look at the bowl the two stars at the end draw a line between them and extend out to Polaris.
