Getting rid of blue cast from Astronomik Clip Filter

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

What's the best way to get rid of the slight teal cast imparted by the clip filter please?  The filter is superb at removing LP but imparts a slight colour cast to the image.  Do I just follow tutorials as if it were a terrestrial photo? This for example?

Or background neutralisation and colour calibration, also in PixInsight.

You can also align the histograms in the same way you would stretch the image. This should work in any program.

Are you using on an unmoddd DSLR...? If so get it modded and the cast will go, as those filters are designed to be used with the colour balance of a modded camera...

Mine always came out purple with the Modded 450D and the CLS filter.  I used to balance the colours in Photoshop levels so that the histogram was balanced and that rectified it.
