I've got the Mark IV, which is very convenient when on the run, as it saves carrying a wide range of fixed eyepieces.

However, I find the narrow field of view at 24mm to be less than ideal.

In terms of light throughput, I also find the zoom to be vastly inferior to fixed eyepieces.

The Mark IV has the typical zoom restrictions and is probably the best bang for buck in the zoom world, but for serious DSO work I wouldn't recommend the zoom, as it's light throughput is not ideal.
