Hi John,

apologies for not getting back to you earlier.

I have still not been given a date for mine? It's just that nearly £900 of my money has been in their account for two months.

I just want it to be right when I DO receive it.

I think that the new rear cell may have delayed things a bit, but hopefully it won't be much longer. I allways "pad" OO's shipping estimate a bit anyway but maybe by next weekend, or is that tempting fate too much ?

Still waiting for mine at the moment . I was given a shipping date,4/11/08.

Still nothing yet. I was told 3 weeks ago that it would be 8-9 days.

Yes,it would be nice to get it for Christmas(this Christmas).

Ths seems to be a "trade mark" of Orion Optics unfortunately - I assume that have banked your money ?.

I hope the scope shows up soon :D

Not really happy about it.I would expect a e-mail or call to say there's been a delay of some sort. But nothing.

I did ring them three weeks ago and they told me 8-9 days? I also e-mailed them and got the came curt reply.

I may give them another call this next week.

Well I am playing around with my new Canon 1000D at least :D

Hi

Spoke to them a couple of days ago and they told me I would definitely get mine before Christmas.

OO's customer service is second to none when it comes to actually sorting out any problem with a scope itself (try getting your Meade or Celestron scope collimated and mirrors cleaned free of charge by the dealer as OO will if you take it into them), but their email communication skills need a lot of improvement, maybe they're just old fashioned that way. I've found a phone call is the best way to keep up to date.

Jeees Glen I really didn't want to read this, I had hoped that things (customer service) might improve after my own experience and postings. If it's any consolation to you I am over the moon with my OO scope, continued usage has proven to me that it was all worth it in the end. It is a good thing that you have posted your findings here (despite the risk of receiving egotistical/defamatory and unrelated replies) sharing user experiences gives us all a clear perspective on what to expect. Fingers crossed that you will receive the scope soon and that your first light will make up for the long and frustrating delay.

At Last !!!

OO is shipping out the first batch of OMC140C OTA's today and Monday so it looks like I will actually get mine in time for Christmas.

Apparently the hold up was the carbon fibre tubes. OO has changed suppliers for the carbon fibre to get the quality they wanted.

Of course we will have to put up with cloud's for three week's. Well, nothing changes there then.

Hi John,

you were right about shipping the OTA's out. I received mine yesterday. Gave everything a check out.

The sad news I'm afraid is that it is now repackaged ready to go back. I have a couple of issues which need sorting out. Probably take it back for a face to face so to speak.

I hope you got your OTA for Christmas.
