M51 Whirlpool

Hello,

Took the chance to image M51 for the first time, seen as we have had a few clearer nights.

This was about 6 hours each of RGB and L. Combined in PixInsight and Photoshop.

I like it. Well done! I think my only critique (and I am no expert, so please tell me if I’m wrong and shut up), but the blue seems a little over saturated to me which just distracts from an otherwise beautiful image.

Nice sharp image, well done!  The GT81/383 combo makes the image scale a bit small but you've got good detail and I like the wide field take. You certainly have the sharpness there for a crop if you want to show the galaxy off a bit more.  As for the blue, I found my effort came out with the same tint when I RGB'd in Astroart.  I know astro colours are subjective but maybe that's just how it is.
