There’s a new hour by hour lunar terminator atlas, called Moon Phases 2018.

As an overview, two very high definition videos (one for northern and one for southern hemisphere observers) show the Moon as it appears throughout 2018. The whole year is squeezed into five minutes. The videos are on the NASA website: https://www.nasa.gov/content/ultra-high-definition-video-gallery or on YouTube:

For planning an observation, you can generate a still map yourself on https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4604

Fill in a date and hour and click update. The preview is updated and shows the Moon for the selected date and time. Click on the preview to download an annotated full size version of the map.  You’ll get a huge, high quality TIF file, 5760x3240 pixels big.

I tried and got a file named comp.3047.tif . It is wonderfully detailed.
