This is the R rather than the horribly complex Apolar though isn’t it?

That's the way I read it... the doublet... id not seen it before..

Many apologies - it is the R which is a good scope - I had one

I was confusing it with the Apolar on astroboot !

How did you rate it? Was the CA well controlled? Might be a cheapish route to a decent refractor, probably with a better figure than similar Chinese scopes?

I used it for visual planetary and it was very good optically but CA was too much for me.

mechanically it was average, an ED120 would be far superior

it was superb for low power / wide field views

Thanks, CA never sits well with me either really. Shame.
