Quite puzzled by this red star, taken Friday 20th,looking North/West,a few degrees below the moon.

1/50sec,F6/3,ISO 800.400mm.I took 2 photo's of this,never taken a star photo so bright red.

would be pleased to have some comments.

Betelgeuse - Alpha Orionis mag 0.6 (a red giant) would be quite low to the horizon on Friday, a few degrees below the moon.  Shining through the horizon haze it might well appear redder than when higher up.
