Jupiter - Good seeing tonight 20-04-18

The seeing seems to be really good tonight. I’ve gotten so used to Jupiter being a wobbly mess that I’d forgotten how stunning it is when the seeing is good. Loads of detail to be seen. Just a shame the GRS isn’t on display. Give it a look if you’re up

Well that makes 5 consecutive nights observing for me. Absolutely knackered but it’s been absolutely awesome. Tuesday night at the dark site was the best night but every night has been fun. Long may it continue!

Nice one! Seeing not particularly good here but still managed some nice views of Jupiter. Looked to be a decent sized festoon on show at around 1am.

Seeing not as good as last night here either, still as you say some good detail if you waited long enough.

Takes time to see detail at the mo, doesn't it? Very noticeable last night how 1 degree higher brought out a lot more - useful practice for Mars!

Only three in a row for me and Thursday night was cut short by fog. It's going to be clear again tonight. I'm sure you can make it 6 in a row!

lol I will almost be greatful for some cloud and an early night. Last 2 nights I’ve told myself just a quick session and then stayed out for 2 hours or more!

Friday night seems to be the one for good views of Jupiter. Pretty good seeing. Picking up good detail. Just too late for the GRS though

The 7mm Meade Research Grade Ortho that I acquired from Stu is rapidly becoming my favourite planetary eyepiece. Tight on eye relief but super sharp and great contrast!
