Lovely crescent Moon and Venus

Recommended Posts

After a lovely warm day it promises to be a pleasant evening.  There's a lovely thin crescent Moon directly west and Venus is becomming visible to the right and down a bit.  Beautiful sight.

It sure does, just been and put my 'scope outside been trying to spot what I can with 8x21 binos but they aren't great at all especially under a class 8 bortle sky. My only decent viewing is east to south so usually eliminates western viewing for me.

It did indeed look lovely when I went out to put the chickens to bed.  A tiny crescent, though no sign of any earthshine that I could see.  I so enjoy seeing the Moon a few days either side of New Moon.  Shame it doesn't happen that often :(

I took my telescope into the top corner of my garden and I was able to see both the moon and Venus, very impressive.

Just had a view myself.  Looked good in binoculars and earthshine also, with Venus brightly shining.

Managed to catch some earthshine as the sky darkened :)
