Another shining example of how not to do planetary photography from the Foster Observatory

900 of 4000 frames with the D3200, Mak 102 and lots of barlow. The scope is F13 and the barlow made it F I don't know what so I had to push it to ISO 1600 and was thus surprised I caught any detail at all. I had half decent views before imaging though as GRS started coming around the limb.

Stacked with AS!3, then a few wavelets to bring out a hint of spot.

Good result with the conditions.

 

I am guessing its better than my attempt will be .Just come in cos its boiling away like the spuds on a sunday lunchtime.

Some nice detail visible there, its not very easy at the moment with any of the planets.

I wasn't expecting any detail at all with all things considered so I am pretty pleased with the result.

That's some out well. Did you use a laptop to take this, did it give the ability to focus in tighter on Jupiter?

Thanks HK. The d3200 only supports stills capture via the lappy but it does send live view so I focussed on the lappy then it was all on camera from there. 

To be fair there wasn't a lot to focus on though at 20 degrees!

That's very good using the D3200 (I have the same camera). I attempted some shots as well with my 127 & 180mm Maks.
