Heads up: Mag 12 transient in Ophiuchus

Perusing the brightest supernovae page I spotted this report:

The location given doesn't show a DSO. The discovery report here:

Suggests it is a candidate X-ray binary (or nova in our own galaxy?). If the skies clear I hope to get the scope out to look for it.

Looking at the Gaia data, it has jumped by 5 magnitudes.

3 deg FOV, down to mag 11, upright, correct view for my RACI finder scope

1 deg FOV, down to Mag 14, upright, reversed view for my C8 with diagonal

Same as above, but with 0.5 deg FOV
