Proms 25th March

A cluster of nice proms on view at the moment... worth a look

I am just out with the Wedge plain white sun no spots boring really.

Yes. Got a chance to see those, Niall. Nice.

Ha is the only game in town just now. (Clouds notwithstanding, John! ?)

I popped the Herschel wedge on just to check, soon went back in the box

I got a chance to have a look at these through a break in the clouds. Some are very faint but then the seeing is not great.

Had an hour of clear sky here this morning and could make out the top looped prom.

More warm clear weather please.

The 2 proms to the lower left a lso seemed to have formed a larger loop: there was a blob of plasma between them at higher alt off the limb.

Panning around the 'chaotic iron filings' patterns in the disc granularity, i came across a small bright spot that persisted for a while, then vanished.  The fine focus knob on the Moonlite upgrade is really proving its worth.

The Ha DS is fantastic on the disc, and I also observe proms with it too: it enhances contrast by blackening the background sky.
