What is the cheapest microwave receiver?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

I would like to know please if you could help me.

Do you know about the existence of any (new) cheap microwave receiver for the 1440 - 1660 MHz range? I'm looking for something much cheaper than the ICOM 7000, something cheaper than 100 euros.

I'm interesting in building my own radiotelescope for SETI.

Thanks in advance,

Regards.

Cheapest way is make your own, a simple helical feed should do it.

Do a search for L band dish feeds.

Thanks for your answer.
I see, well I would prefer not to have to build anything.

I didn't find any L-band feedhorn so far in amazon, ebay.. it seems that they don't exist, so strange..
