I occasionally spot things when I am surfing t'internet and have just come across these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIY-Geodesic-Dome-Kit-Make-a-fruit-cage-arbour-garden-room-aviary-etc/162560394788?hash=item25d95ac624:g:uUkAAOSwK6RZLsnd I wondered if it had possibilties for observatory building and thought it worth posting the link in case anyone can make use of the kit.

In fact a search for 'garden dome' brings back all sorts of interesting products

These look interesting - fix them againt a wall and lift them up out of the way https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Outdoor-Growing-Dome-Garden-Greenhouse-Hood-90-Degree-Frame-Plants-Vegetables/192449732407?epid=1933376512&hash=item2ccee5df37:g:09gAAOSwI~taewiv

They seem to do 180 degree ones too https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Horti-Hood-Mini-90-180-Degree-Folding-Greenhouse-Cloche-Garden-Storage-Dome/132188933605?epid=1933376512&hash=item1ec7130de5:m:mTcey_h3msUEzUv2ChWBd6Q

Interesting, thanks, I missed this first time

They still look interesting.  If they could be mounted onto a floor that turned, perhaps on some sort of 'wheeled castor' or child's playground roundabout type system, they would only need an opening down one side to be functional - perhaps by making little Perspex triangle windows that push in and out of the openings.

Yes, I meant doubly interesting, obsy and planty :) Or even threeways interesting - as a foldback cover ?

Food (pardon the pun) for thought !
