Daytime Moon rubbish

OK the seeing was terrible, but no matter what I do I can't get AS to stack.

Clearly I'm doing something wrong because a single frame shows promise.

Pipp, AS2 100-90% and then it goes all over the place. :(:(

Single frame.

Duff Stack 16 frames. grrrrr

I'm stumped! :(

That'll be to do with contrast with all that bright sky around the bright moon Rich. Blink your subs and you'll see they're probably not perfectly aligned. Took me ages to work it out.

You need to adjust the Object Detection Threshold on the Processing Options tab in Pipp. Keep it on auto and click Test Detect Threshold button first. That'll set it somewhere near what you need but the preview will have some sky selected masked on the terminator side.

Then untick the auto option and adjust, one notch at a time and retest each time until there's no sky detected.

Click Test Options to make sure she's centred and off you go.

A huge thanks John, another top tip learned and applied. It worked like a charm. :)

Below a heavily cropped stacked image to look at stacking accuracy. Ignore detail and contrast etc, the seeing was dreadful.

Thanks again John, best, Rich
