Thank goodness its all ok

Last night saw a disaster nearly as my scope rested on my pier for a while , just noticed the guiding went pear shaped ,so rushed into the dome to hear this loud clicking, turned it off quickly , and could,nt wait to make sure all was well tonight, and thank goodness it was , .just a simple test for it on M27 going through various exposure , all ok up to 20 mins ,so looks like ok ,

so

a few 5 mins subs and 10 min and 15 min and 20 min subs , nice to see some of that outer nebulosity around M27 outside the lobes .

That's a superb image Rog glad everything is ok. I did a similar thing a while back when I fell asleep imaging in the whee hours of the morning. I woke up with my guide scope clashing the pier and stalling the mount :S.

Lovely M27 Rog, so much detail in the outer regions...glad to here the scope/mount are ok but sad to hear that your back probs are forcing the sale of the SCT

Well processed Rog.

Nice result and glad to hear all is will with the mount.

I just lock the clutches very lightly( so I can still easily move the scope around by hand with the clutches engaged) on my mount so if that dose happen the motors still turn even though the scope is hitting the pier.
