My name is Ralph.  I'm new to astronomy but have enjoyed reading about it for a long while.  This forum seems to have a lot of educational material, so I thought  I'd introduce myself.  I'll be starting with binoculars, Pentax 20x60 and will be purchasing a pair 0f 10x50 soon.  It's obvious from use, I'll be researching a good method to mount the 20x60's.  I am looking forward to spring and interacting with the members of SGL.  I will be retiring within 2 years and intend to enjoy supplementing with some future viewing equipment.

Hi there from the Netherlands Ralph,

Welcome and bino's are great wide view instuments.

I also own a Pentax 20X60, but a tripod is a must with this bino.

It is great on the Moon and some deepsky. But it's so powerful you can see de rings of Saturn with it.
