After a cloudy morning capped off with a nice coating of hailstones it cleared at about 1pm so I grabbed a heap of full disk and close up data. The seeing wasn't up to much with the extra magnification, but the close up shows some detail. I think I prefer the 100% crop though.

Full disk (and crop, obviously) is 100 of 300 frames, the close up is 300 of 3000 frames.

Pipp>AS!3>IMPPG>Photoshop.

Nice John, no chance here.

3000 frames, video I presume?

You presume correctly.

Right. I think that I'll give it a try on the 700D + 150-600 with white light. Rigged up the EQ3-2 to accept the camera rig directly inc motor tracking.

No idea about video settings...hint-hint. ;)

But at least if I 'fry' the 700D I will be less upset than with the other bodies.

Lol.

Settings:

Lowest iso you can and expose on live view so it looks slightly under exposed. You won’t cook it if you are using Baader film.

But video isn’t going to give any benefit with the 600 though. May as well stick it on the eq3 and use intervalometer to grab 300 still frames.

Good to see you've managed to stop playing with the Pluto long enough to catch some Sun

Nice clear blue sky here this morning but wind so strong I had to hang on to the scope with two hands just for a quick look no chance of imaging it, then cloud, hailstones, more cloud and now it's cleared around midnight so set the imaging going at nothing in particular in the Virgo galaxies direction.
