Interesting post seeing this opened up.

How many more GSO Superviews do you have to dissasemble left?

That was all of them lol. I like the 15mm as it both Barlows and reduces well. Although I rarely use it as such. The 20mm was a disappointment in many respects so I thought I'd look inside. These are very successful EP's for GSO although I think the quality control is very average.

Are these the 70° super plossl type EPs? If so I wonder if they're the same as the Explore Scientific 70°'s, I've been considering a 20 & 25mm in that range.

I'm not sure what a 'Super Plossl' actually is. AFAIK these are 68° wide angle EP's. I'm not sure how they can be classified. I'm hazarding a guess that they're relatively new GSO designs based on or influenced by modified Erfles, Konigs and Berteles. I doubt they have much in common with the ES 70° series.

These (above) are made by Bresser though, or at least distributed by them. I'm guessing the lenses themselves are JOC and they're a five element design. They're also 60° AFOV. Probably at their best at f/8 and slower. Although I've used the 5.5mm in an ST80 with a 2.5x Barlow for about 182x on the Moon.

I thought these were an Astroplanokular design.

They appear to be 1-1-3 in configuration.

Reason for disassembly? I have a couple but plain GSO, Not Revelation branded. Konig?  They are usually described as Erfle.

It's difficult to say what it is. I've been informed it is very reminiscent of some UO Konig designs. I disassembled it because it was borked anyway (visible debris) so rather than return it I cannibalised its drawtube and eyeguard.

GSO are a TS Optics 'partner factory' and a lot of their eyepieces and products are actually rebranded GSO.

The TS Crayford-rail focuser on this Orion ST80 is actually GSO, as is the TS 2.5x Barlow below.

Revelation also rebadge the same GSO Barlow, but cheaper than TS! If only I'd have known at the time lol.
