I made a brief mention of Porrima in "Observing Reports". It was sheer accident that a brief look at x90 showed something different from previous years . At x150 it's a very beautiful , bright and to me a  warm eggy yellow pair  that is beautiful. It'll open up wider, here's some old gen on it,Certainly presents a lovely sight and a reasonable target, being easy to find and easy to split. It did come as a bit of a surprise . Something to research into, under clear skies !

I expect so.I can in mine. I always had a little look last year before turning my attention to Jupiter.

Fairly easy split with my 4", and a lovely sight through my 180 Mak at x190.

Go back a few years and it just looked like a single star , useful for dropping into the bowl of galaxy fuzzy things !

As an indication, this is what it should look like at the moment (WDS 2016 values) with a decent 4" frac, and reasonable magnification (Aberrator simulation).
