helios 80x20 binoculars

Recommended Posts

I think you've got your numbers back to front?

I used to own some Helios  Stellar 20x80's, but sold them prior to my real starting point in astronomy.
They were heavy, always needed mounting/resting  just to maintain a steady image and had a very small field of view, especially back then compared to my 7x50's. They were purchased with the intent of using them for aviation and astronomy, but the real reason I owned the Stellars was the price, Ooops! got them well under the retail price, and sold them for more?

I've not attempted to image anything through binoculars so cant advise there, but surely, someone has some experience.
I have contemplated ( just a thought for now )  replacing my 15x70's for a premium banded pair of 15x70's, but for my general astronomy needs I  much prefer low power, wide angle bins. Take a look at the  Helios NatureSportPlus 8x40's some time.

Hi Garry, welcome to SGL. If you scroll down from the home page, there’s binoculars in the equipment section, and also in the observing section. Lots of good stuff in there, keep you busy for a long while......

Cheers from Ed.

Amazon have on offer with both mount and tripod, such as this one... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adjustable-Trigger-Ravelli-APGL4-Professional/dp/B003SQEAY0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1515863114&sr=8-1&keywords=trigger+ball+head+and+tripod
