Another successful launch for Space X, it still amazes me the science that goes into launching and then landing the first stage on a moving barge in the ocean.  Did anyone notice lightening in the background before launch?

I remember back in 1981 I think, first Shuttle launch and we were all crowded round the big school TV on the trolley waiting for launch. It got delayed for a while, to another day and we missed it I think.

Had a flashback when I read this. The telly on the trolly !!!

I don't recall watching the shuttle launch at school  but we did watch the raising of the Mary Rose.  ah, the memories :)

Just watched the "repeat".

Does anyone know off hand how spaceX provide the live video feed from the launch vehicle during its accent.  I can recall from my days of following the Shuttle that NASA use the TDRSS.

Just noticed that there's not control deck aboard the Crew module. Not sure if the live unit will incorporate this. The early Mercury astronauts used to refer to themselves as "spam in a can" as they hand no flight control responsibility.

There are control modules and displays but they’re not necessary for this flight. I think they’re still spam in a can but they will be able to ‘intervene’ and do some driving if needed.

An amazing achievement for all concerned! At the risk of being a tad controversial,
but hopefully giving some fellow (American too) scientists a good-natured chuckle:
How many times can Jim Bridenstine mention the word "American" in one Tweet? ?

I SALUTE ALL scientists who work hard... for long hours... (not always huge salaries!)
and despite (threat of) cuts/stoppages and the uncertain whim of administration? ?

But back to the REALLY important question: "Where can I BUY:

Well said.

Their work is the backbone of our civilization. The unsung heroes in this celeb obsessed culture.
