Hello,

My HEQ5 EQDIR FTDI cable is far to long really for my requirements. Is there anyone that makes these cables to length, or know of ones around 50cm in length ?

Thanks

Alistair

This guy will make you one to length, the linked one is EQ6 but he does both, drop him and email :)

LOL I though it looked wrong, and indeed it was.  Thanks for picking up and replying anyway.  Apologies to the 'imposter' :laughing4:

I have one of these for my HEQ5 Pro and it works fine. My only comment is that the chip is set in a clear case that includes the USB plug. With a bright green LED light on the FTDI chip this is a right pain. I solved the problem by simply wrapping a couple of layers of black insulating tape around the plug.

Just be careful using an unknown source, as if the electronics are a little off it will blow your mount, look at the warnings here....personally I would rather buy something like this from a trusted seller, as it is an intricate bit of electronic work involved..just my opinion mind.... :)

Cables, don't talk to me about cables. Hate them with a vengeance. If you want to go down a different route you could use bluetooth. There is a section in the EQmod manual on making your own, which I have done with great success.
