Next lunar eclipse - Rare and Special

Hi all,

Just a heads up to the ones who might have missed the information. There will be a total lunar eclipse on 31st January, but it's not just any old lunar eclipse.

This lunar eclipse will happen on the second full moon of January, so it's a blue moon, and it's happening during a super moon. Come to think of it, it's the third super moon in a row, so that in its self is strange and rare, but to have a total lunar eclipse, on the second full moon in a month during a super moon makes it a SUPER BLUE BLOOD MOON... definitely worth a look and a photo.

Super blue blood moon, what a great way for the new season to begin.

Hope you all see it.

Clear skies.

You have your fair share of goodies up there that are not available to us tho...

That's a good reminder to stop complaining all the time. I guess at least we have Polaris so we know where north is! :)

We have an empty patch of the sky... that's south...

and two permanent clouds in the sky.

Fair comment, I suppose it's just human nature to want what you can't have.

Yes, but with these forums we get to experience the views were not able to have (for the time being) through others...

Are there any particular northern sky goodies that you would like to see?

See and image, yes of course... the andromeda Galaxy, the colliding galaxies and the whirlpool Galaxy to name a few...
