Thanks Brendan,

The scale of M1 means that I really need the SCT to be at f10 or f20 but then guiding form the "66" will be a real issue especially with no bright stars around -I suppose I could stack a load more shorter subs though .....

I like to keep optical setups "constant" all night so try and find a range of targets to be imaged with a particular configuration.

The 350D minus its filter In combination with aan External Hutech IDAS LPR seems to be working very well indeed on the "nebs".

Thanks All,

It was only a stop gap until Alnitak rose so will be given the respect it deserves another night I aim for a minimum of 2hours osd subs at ISO 800 or 1 hour at ISO16000 these days with the moded 350D.

I want to try this at F20 or even F30 ont the 8" but the guiding will be a real challenge then.
