A Christmas Jupiter

I dusted off the kit and had a go at Jupiter in the pre-dawn sky on the 28th December.

Conditions were rubbish with jet stream ripple and jumping all over the screen. Still good to get out and actually image a planet again.  Hopefully it can only get better from here in 2018.

Nice result given the conditions. Hopefully things will improve....wish this wind would die down!

Some nice detail visible there despite the conditions.

It is nice to see her getting higher all the time isn't it. I grabbed a few images on the 28th as well, the seeing was pretty dire. Other than the equatorial belts I could see virtually no detail at all.
