My parents kept me in to see walk on the moon on TV at 9:00am and made me go to school late (school was literally the other side of the road).

As it actually happened in the early hours, it must have been a special report -  because I know it was 9:00am and it was a shock that my parents thought something on TC was more important than school! And I didn't get into trouble for it!

I also remember looking up at the moon in the evening and thinking there were people up there. Amazing.

Apollo 13 was unforgettable as well.

I was 8 for the landing, but I have vaguer memories of the earlier missions and remember being surprised how little fuss was made about the last few.
