Star Halos pixinsight

I don't know why I get these ugly halos around some of the stars whenever I combine the L with RGB photo in pixinsight. 

I'm still working on a way to get rid of them, but I'd like to know what caused them in the first place to avoid it, if possible.

The cause: most likely different star size in L than RGB. Did you use deconvolution on L?

The remedy: create a star contour mask using either starmask on only the extracted red channel, or colormask. Apply this to the image. Use colorsaturation to desaturate only the halo colour.
