These eyepieces are incredible, I went mad a few years ago and bought the 13mm and 4.7mm and there is nothing to compare them with. These stand alone and are (in my opinion) the best eyepieces ever made. The 13mm never leaves my 16" and the 4.7 is so good it questions reality.
I cannot even use any of my Naglars any more, the downgrade in image quality and FoV is just too dramatic.

If you see me at the Skelligs Star Party also with just the same two Ethos, a 13 and a 4.7, please don’t attack me as a thief!!😁

Those two focal lengths are also my only Ethos; and like you once the 13 is in my 12”, it’s there for almost all a session.

Not today, but just a little while ago:

I feel I am standing on the top of a slope and my footing is becoming loose. Of course, it is to attach to my DSLR, which I have still not mastered, in basic mode. There may be trouble ahead...

It also came with this:

I have no idea whatsoever what it is for. only small, smaller than the rest. No instructions included. :icon_scratch:

that last looks like maybe a parfocal ring?

I guess you'd fit it to the nosepiece of an eyepiece so you can match up the focus between the camera and an eyepiece if using a flip mirror?

Postie delivered from Altair Astro an iOptron Vixen/Losmandy Dual Dovetail Saddle.
This will live on the EQ3-2 which has a nightmare design. I thought it might fit the AVX as well, but it won't.

It is not the same as advertised, with levers instead of knobs, and two clamp areas instead of continuous. The clamps, springs and knobs fall off if you undo them a couple of turns too far.

From World of Books:

A purchase inspired by members here, Exploring the Night Sky with Binoculars. It's in good condition but does have that 'old book' smell. Luckily I don't read with my nose. In the centre were some old A4 sky map prints a previous owner left behind from July 2002...

Astronomy for Older Eyes - not a book I've seen before, but as I'm catching up to many of you the book caught my (feeling very old!) eye...

The best bit was the price... WoB is a fantastic shop...

TV Barrel extender for new Ethos

image.thumb.jpg.cfb411d53be21663269da515dc4369eb.jpg

Welcome to the wonderful world of Ethos @JeremyS Although I tend to use mine for my 10" Dob, they are also fantastic in the FOA-60Q and Mewlon180 😁

The barrel extender is a great idea... I have them on all mine that need it, so as to use consistently as 2" eyepieces and save fiddling with the the 1.25" to 2" adaptors 👍

Having been reminded of these books by the late Patrick Moore, on this here forum, I thought it’s about time I got one. Duely arrived minutes ago was this 1986 edition in excellent condition, no late night sandwich marks present at all!

There looks to be quite a few editions from Mr P so it would be nice to see a list of them, here, so others may peruse his efforts.
