What did the postman bring?

Postie arrived four hours late with a Lynx Astro handset extension cable for the AVX, the supplied cable being hopeless with a Newt as it's so short. Its about 5ft long before you start extending it, there are cheaper ways of doing this, but the mount is still in warranty.

Should be needed in the next couple of weeks or so. Beta test unit is very nearly ready. 🙂

Exciting indeed, I can see this addition being very popular.
The Facebook footage posted by Rowan showed a very smooth and quiet operation.

Svbony SV41 70mm mini mak and an M48 to T2 adaptor.  Don’t get on with bins so one of these little maks seemed like a good choice for a super portable setup.  Will start a thread on it shortly. Oh yes the M48 to T2 adaptor is for fitting a T2  to 1.25” eyepiece adaptor so that standard 1.25” eyepieces can be used. 🙂

I've got one of these on my Dob...makes things much easier 👍

No more waiting for the image to stop wobbling all over the place 😁 , Had Orion version for years, can't cope with manual focusing!

Managed to get one of these, loving the retro glass right now.

I used to have those. I had one with the Orion Ultrascopic branding and one branded Celestron Ultima. Both the same optically. Very nice glass, as you say.

The only series around at that time that I felt competed and perhaps even bettered slightly, the Tele Vue plossls :icon_biggrin:

Not posted in here for a while however a Baader 2.6 GPC turned up from Germany and the packaging made me smile:

Apologies if I got the last one and you have to wait months for another GPC to turn up. I'm waiting on other Baader equipment so I know how it feels...

Postie has been with a much anticipated delivery.
I am very much into Solar Observing, but I had to admit my ignorance at what I was observing,
this was during a recent Begginers Observing Session at my club.
So I hope I will become more informed on this subject, we will find how I cope with it soon.

And its the English translated version, do not be misled by the authors names.

Indeed not, looks great and lots of information, but truly lots of information.
I know how cloudy nights will be spent for a while....
Mind you, I am still trying to cope with Luna Cognita, that's even more information and 3 volumes.

I very much agree John.

I had a set of 7 (out of a possible 9 total) of Parks Gold Series of the same design. Lovely eyepieces with smooth barrels and nice optics. The shorter focal lengths had shortish eye relief, although the shortest (3.8mm) version (not shown in the photo)  was, I believe, a 7.5mm with a Smyth lens screwed into the bottom  - thus retaining longer ER.

If you can find a pair, the 20/25/30mms make wonderful binoviewing pairs👍...look at the eyelens on the 30mm😊
