Initially wanted the natural colour however none have been in stock an age

FWIW, I ordered my Report (the 372 model) directly from Germany back last summer, because at the time FLO only stocked the Uni 28/18 and Planet... I like that colour and it still has that feel and smell I bet 😊

My very first refractor, the new WO FLT 91, this is going to be my imaging telescope when I can get my hands on a Skywatcher mount.

Thank you FLO, I love it Mr Bresser Messier was just delivered now.

Just arrived and amazingly well packed... triple boxed, with spacers 😮 Nestled inside was a gorgeous Takahashi FC76-DCU 😃 I can’t believe how light it is compared to the StellaMira 80mm, and

This specimen of beauty arrived today courtesy of fellow member @mikemabel and parcel force. Thank you Mike for the smooth sale. So chuffed with the purchase of the scope and extras, I'm hoping to get the scope out tonight on my az gti mount, even if it is to see the moon between the clouds for a quick test, I'm sure I'll have many questions to ask about this scope, though thoroughly researched it on here and YouTube. Clear skies everyone. (though I've probably blighted the whole of Cornwall with clouds now) 😉

Lee is this you diving head first into that deep astrophotography rabbit hole? Say goodbye to your wallet (and sanity!). 😉

Enjoy. 👍

I've dived head first without even looking 😂, also said goodbye to my wallet and bank ages ago, not even got my star adventurer that's on order yet, then that'll be the last purchase 🤫😬, my sanity went a long way before my wallet too, I thoroughly enjoyed my first session with it out of the box so to speak and looking forward to learning more about it, so amazed I even got 2 subs of M81 at 15 secs on this setup, pure fluke I think, I'm definitely going to enjoy this ride 🔭🌌

New (to me) Crayford focuser for my Evostar 100ED DS Pro arrived this morning from @Stu1smartcookie , another SGL smooth transaction and Stu didn't skimp on the packing.

Fitted this evening and put the original SkyWatcher Crayford onto my Celestron 102 Wide View Achromatic to make that more usable.

Lovely and smooth with the added rotator. :D

I also cleaned the 100ED's lenses while I was at it, they needed it!

1.25” dielectric diagonal. Picked it up dirt cheap in an Amazon promotion the other day.....£15.88 delivered. 🙀

Now back to the regular price.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WCQ3C1G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Decent build quality with aluminium construction and a compression band for the eyepiece. Replaced the steel side panels with carbon fibre plate and now looks pretty good I think. Tried it last night on the moon with the ScopeTech 80 and was able to use 353x mag so performs very well indeed. Pleased with my bargain and good enough to leave permanently in the ScopeTech. 🙂🙂🙂

For my grab & go set up...

Daytime tests in a TS Photoline 115 Triplet are very sharp edge to edge, I'm very impressed being used to Ethos and ES82s.

Just waiting for first light, tonight looks good.

Nicely packed parcel today brought me this very nicely built (think WO build) Long Perng 80mm F6 widefield refractor.

It's 15 years old but hardly used, and came with a nice carry case lined with foam, retracting dewshield with metal dewcap, about 15 internal baffles (literally!), very smooth 2" Crayford with 1.25" reducer and integrated dovetail which also fits on a standard photo tripod. No finder needed as my low power eps can act as finders!

This should give me lovely low power widefield views such as x16 (Aero 30mm) and x40 (Nagler T2 12mm).

Not a high power scope but that's not why I bought it, and on my test object this morning in bright sunlight there was virtually no CA at x16 and just a tad at x40. I'm expecting it to be a non issue at night..

Well chuffed at first sight😊.

Dave

All delivered today, thank you to @mikemabelfor the 48mm t ring to connect my FF to my dslr. Then two other purchases a concertina type travel stool to fit in my backpack when walking to a couple of good viewing spots (very sturdy it is too) and care of 3dashtronomy a batinov mask for my 72ed with matching colour to dovetail livery (bit ocd I know) hoping it stays clear this evening to try it all out, for a later session now clocks gone forward. Clear skies

Nothing expensive but postie brought me a 32mm plossl for low-power views in my 150PL. Might be speaking too soon but the skies here are clear, has to be a first if it stays that way...and I may also have jinxed it now!

Replaced this embarrassing, wobbly photo tripod head. With something which will hopefully be more stable. Plus an eyepiece storage box. Can’t say I’ve been terribly good lately, but I can’t have been terribly bad either. Fingers crossed for some clear skies.

My dslr upgrade arrived today a used Canon 600d with only a shutter count of 4112, which is pretty good I think. Nice clean and with 2 batteries, charger, strap and kit lens. The rotating lcd screen will be a godsend now and save my knees from having to kneel down and also craning my neck to see the image on screen as I used to do with my 450d. I'll get the 600d modded in the future when funds allow and I start climbing back up the slippery slope of astrophotography and keep the 450d for general use.
