Very happy chap today. Actually dithered quite a bit whether to buy the StellaMira 80mm (crayford focuser) or an alternative however circumstances deemed the StellaMira as the one to be. Ooh it's lovely. Plus a few other bits - Scopetech Zero, ADM clamp and a Baader finder shoe. Thanks to the contributors on the various posts at SGL as to suggestions for appropriate mounts and clamps.

Welcome to StellaMira/ScopeTech heaven 😀

Managed to find these two at a great price thanks to Zoltan at 365 although I like my black and green can’t justify the the Ethos price these days they have gone mad and I already have a couple plus a13mm Ethos picked at a reasonable secondhand price

A Vixen HR 3.4mm eyepiece. 🙂

Been curious about the Vixen HR eyepieces so when I saw this one decided to get it. As it was second hand if I don’t get on with it could easily sell it on for what I paid for it. So zero risk. 🙂

You will enjoy looking at the moon tonight, if it clears up. 🤞

To be honest ethos or not they look pretty fantastic. I’m sure they will shine.

Very nice !

There is really not much between these and the Ethos's. I'm sure you have seen the review that I did a while back:

https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/236613-skywatcher-myriad-100-110-degree-apparent-field-eyepieces/

I understand that optically the Myriad's, Lunt / APM XWA's,  Stellavue Optimus and TS XWA's are the same.

Hi John yes your review made my decision when I purchased my first one I have a 13 Ethos and there is not that much in it between it and the Myriads I just think now the prices are out of Controll for the Ethos as is the used market in general at the moment

I used to use my Vixen 102 F/6.5 refractor on an AZ-4 and it worked very well

Nice and portable combination.

I think the myriad eyepieces are very good. I sold my 8mm and 21mm ethos which in hindsight I regret. However, I bought the 9mm and 20mm myriad which as John stated is very similar. I have the 13mm ethos and I was going to buy the 5mm myriad but a 6mm ethos came up on the classifieds. It would be interesting to try the 3.5mm.

I was lucky 365 astronomy had them in stock all the usual places were out of stock and no more on the horizon  I brought the 20mm from them 18 months ago  hoping to try them out tonight set up waiting

Thanks John. I'm really hoping to get some use out of this setup for those brief sessions between clouds.  I am quite surprised at the weight of this grab and go set up. I would say its as heavy if not heavier than my 200p! I am real keen to get my 1st defractionless views and experience the dark contrast I keep reading about 😀
