My very first refractor, the new WO FLT 91, this is going to be my imaging telescope when I can get my hands on a Skywatcher mount.

Thank you FLO, I love it Mr Bresser Messier was just delivered now.

Just arrived and amazingly well packed... triple boxed, with spacers 😮 Nestled inside was a gorgeous Takahashi FC76-DCU 😃 I can’t believe how light it is compared to the StellaMira 80mm, and

Finally got round to unpacking the boxes. Unfortunately we are getting some building work done at the moment, so I could not set it all up. Full pictures will be shown in the AZ100 dedicated site.

A new-to-me Manfrotto 405 geared 3-way head after some minor Dremel surgery to convert it to a 2-way head a la @johninderby.

I've been after one of these for a while and managed to pick this one up off MPB.com.

In really nice condition and looked pretty much unused.

Hoping to get a chance to use it soon.

The altitude sticker on the side is looking worse for wear since I removed it to convert it to 2-way but it is easily replaced though expensive at £8 per sticker plus P&P.

Yes that looks familiar. 🤔

Find it works best when the scope is back heavy. rather than evenly balanced as with a regular alt-az mount.

Thanks for the tip John, I'll bear that in mind if I ever get around to using it.

🤞

Will be interested in seeing if the new Tecnosky 125.will be usable on the 405 / report setup.. 🙏🏼Should carry the weight....just.....and if it is stable enough to use will be grab’n’go. 🙂

Of course will normally use the AZ100. 😁

Celestron 2" to 1.25" Adapter with Twist-Lock and a ZWO T2 - 1.25” Filer Adaptor

The Celestron twist lock is a nice solid all metal bit of kit with a nice 16mm wide compression band so no problems with undercuts or tapered eyepiece barrels. Works very smoothly and holds the eyepiece very solidly. A good alternative to the more expensive Baader equivelant.

Wanted to keep the 2” nosepiece on my Baader prism diagonal but wanted to use a 1.25” Baader neodymium filter that I had instead of buying a 2” one as they aren’t cheap and didn’t want to have to keep moving the filter to different eyepieces.

So got the ZWO T2 to 1.25” filter adaptor and screwed it into the front of the prism, screwed in the 1.25” filter and refitted the 2” nosepiece.

After an attempt to capture the Rosette Nebula with a OSC camera reminded me of just how heavy the light pollution is when imaging from the heart of the city, I hope this delivery from the postman today will offer some help...

6" Stellalyra Classical Cassegrain for grab and go. Beefy focuser as standard!

I had planned to use it on a Manfrotto 405 geared head though it was a bit too wobbly. That's partly the lightweight alu tripod rather than the head, but I've found it much more stable on a Mini Ercole Giro, which means I have to have a second scope for balance. Oh well!

Indeed you did... see other post 🤣👍

BTW, the small mattress behind the scope in that photo is now where I'm sleeping having spent so much on new scopes and eyepieces this last week... it is literally the dog bed and I'm probably moving in with him 🤣

Baader 1.25 glass path corrector arrived today from Microglobe. After fitting the T2 adapter to my WO binoviewer, I still needed a touch more travel to focus when on my TS 80 mm frac ( extremely close, but no cigar). Fitted the GPC into my 2” nosepiece at the front of the T2 diagonal giving an extra 30mm of travel. Can now get focus with a spare 12mm & not add too much magnification in the frac. Had to use a stock pic as I was to eager to try it out when I arrived home with clear skies to take a picture.
