Just received my dibond print of my veil mosaic, thrilled to say the least. The photo makes it look a little washed out when in fact it looks quite the opposite.

All the way from Sweden and deposited on my door step by the courier three days earlier than expected - As it was palleted and weighed almost 70kg, it was left out in the rain until I got home from wo

And here we go. One box with lots of padding material and there is another box inside that: And in that box is another box and a foam box with: My brand new 125 m

Substitute postie for DHL man, who was an hour early, but I’m not complaining, and my Xmas has come late, or mega early, depending on the contents of your glass.

Courtesy of FLO, the (soggy) box contained these puppies 😀C1013985-859C-420F-B795-61251B5F1577.thumb.jpeg.496122fadb001cdeb9ac092defa7dd80.jpegrB4DA3DAF-C4CE-47A9-8118-AC21D70AE274.thumb.jpeg.92e4cddbb92fc8363a745af419239654.jpegED12E206-94E9-432F-B7A7-4E7EE6640C73.thumb.jpeg.e8842e5b4e780d0768c356e5bc69bc55.jpeg

The scope is a ZS61, with the appropriate (I think, and hope) flattener/reducer.  Got a PSU arriving later for the ASIair Pro, so hopefully in a position to get cracking. All I need now is a giant leaf-blower capable of rearranging the clouds 😀

Telescopic (excuse the pun) Telrad Riser! 🤣

I think there would be copyright issues, though. 🙄

Nah! Just play around with the name, and no one will be any the wiser. How about the TelRise Raider 🙂

My stuff arrived whilst in was in the smallest room in the house! Isn't that always the case...

Another delivery :)

My PSU has just turned up for the ASIair Pro. My list of excuses is now growing thin, so I had best try and get to grips with some of this stuff 😳

I also had both but ended up using just the lower one. Found the tall one just too tall.

I was actually very surprised how quickly they arrived! 😯 I only ordered them yesterday and the West Country to SW Scotland isn't a short trip, especially during Lockdown by post!

Great book. Eyepiece looks nice too. I wouldn’t mind bagging a decent zoom.

The Hyperflex has received decent reviews. The Hyperion zoom would be nice, but buying a £180 eyepiece for a £120 telescope just doesn't compute.

The eyepiece seems well made and I'm surprised how small and light it is.. It will fit nicely into the camera bag with the Mak.

Ditto... got both, found the 4" too tall eventually so no using the 2" and sold the 4" on... always best to try when possible 🙂

This arrived few days ago, but forgot to post (did make a guest appearance on the Mak when I got the Hyperion Zoom).

Skywatcher 6x30 right angle finder... I've got couple of 9x50 RACI and straight thru 6x30, but this makes life much simpler on the Mak and is just a lovely dinky little thing 😀

Postie brought me a Telrad for my 150PL, which already has a base on it by a previous owner. I say brought me, s/he lobbed it over my gate since I was out. Fortunately, it appears to have survived but I'm unimpressed with such action.

Crikey I knew they were big but it's even bigger than I expected. At first I though it was faulty or damaged until I realised you need to be fairly close-up to see it properly - not from an OTA's-length away then!

I've always thought the SW finderscopes were good value for money.

You can use a laser pointer bracket to make a low profile bracket for the 6x30 bracket. Needs some short nylon screws to replace the long stock ones. Easy mod to remove the middle bit to tuck the finder in close to the OTA.

John, as always you provide me with more tempting (but extremely useful options). As it happens, on the Mak127, which I use with binoviewers and Hyperion zooms now, the current stalk is just about right... however, I am thinking about this little 6x30 as an option on the StellaMira, so may just get one of these brackets anyway and see how it goes... thanks 👍

Today is a good day,

Firstly as some of you will have read, I had a camera stolen by a courier a few months ago - They refused to pay out as it was classed as a non-compensatable item, but after several months of arguing and emails to the CEO they have finally admitted liability and paid out.  New camera now on its way now to be modified by Astronomiser.

Secondly, I ordered an Evostar 72 months ago and its turned up today, at least a month sooner than I was expecting!

Happy Friday all!

My modded 600d has just turned up so now I’m ready for those long crisp clearless nights!

oh.

Hi Robin, does your mount have the 1/4" hex drive that those would attach to then? I was thinking along similar lines for my Porta mount but that has D shaped shafts so would need some bodging

Mark

No mine unfortunately also not.   My mount has an 8mm shaft.  Porta 6 mm?  Im planning to add something like this.  Or a hex to drill adapter.
